The Practice

Yoga offers countless techniques, but they all point toward the same invitation: to become more fully present to the life we're already living.

Throughout Dharma Immersion, practice extends far beyond the yoga mat. Each element of the retreat is intentionally woven together to cultivate awareness—not only during formal practice, but in conversation, in silence, in nature, and in the ordinary moments that often go unnoticed.

Our mornings begin with meditation and embodied practice, creating a foundation of steadiness before the day unfolds. Asana becomes a place to observe rather than perform—a laboratory for recognizing familiar habits, exploring new possibilities, and learning to respond with intention instead of reaction.

Yoga philosophy is approached as a living tradition rather than an academic subject. Through discussion, self-inquiry, journaling, partner work, and shared reflection, we'll explore how these teachings continue to inform the choices we make every day.

The spaciousness of the high desert is another teacher. Time for walking, resting, and quiet reflection is woven throughout the retreat, recognizing that some of our deepest insights arise when there's finally enough space to hear them.

Our hope isn't that you'll leave with more information. It's that you'll return home with greater clarity, deeper trust in your own experience, and practices that continue to support you long after the retreat has ended.

Because ultimately, the practice isn't what happens during these six days. It's how you live when you return home.
