Gentle yoga is a more therapeutic approach to asana practice. The physical focus is to relieve stress and tension in common problem areas and build strength and balance—without creating more tension in specific joints such as the wrists, knees, low back, neck, and shoulders. Students are often guided with different breathing, concentration, and meditation techniques to reduce stress and subtle tension in the body. Recommended for students who are recovering from injury/working with chronic pain, and/or would welcome some stress relief techniques into their daily life.
Aging with Intention combines various techniques from yoga, Qigong, and meditation to promote well-being throughout our lives. This class takes a balanced approach to health, focusing on three key areas: physical health, mental/emotional well-being, and community connection. Throughout the practice, students are guided through a range of yoga postures, breathing exercises, concentration techniques, and meditation methods designed to reduce stress, increase proprioception, and alleviate subtle tension in the body.
