Ayurveda Treatment
This specialized session combines Shiro (head), Pad (feet), and Mukha (face) Abhyanga techniques along with pranassage practices.
After a brief intake, each session is tailored to your specific needs and focus areas.
Abhyanga is a treatment rooted in the Ayurvedic healing system, practiced in India for over a thousand years. Today, it remains an integral part of Indian culture, promoting relaxation and daily healing. This treatment helps release stress accumulated in the tissues, muscles, and joints of the head, face, neck, shoulders, and feet.
How Does It Work?
Shiroabhyanga: This treatment is performed while the client is fully clothed. The client sits while the practitioner either sits or stands at a higher level. Ayurvedic oil is applied to the scalp and neck using various movements, including kneading and compression techniques on the neck, shoulders, face, and scalp.
Mukhabhyanga: The client reclines, and Abhyanga treatment is applied to the face.
Padabhyanga: The session concludes with the activation of related pressure points on the feet to relax and ground the nervous system, followed by Abhyanga treatment applied to the feet.
Pranassage: The client is guided through various restorative postures while familiar yoga adjustments are made. This technique helps release common tension points throughout the body.
While participants do not need to undress, it is advisable to wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to the back of the neck and shoulders. Please choose clothing that you do not mind getting oil on.
Who Could Especially Benefit from Ayurvedic Treatments?
This treatment is beneficial for everyone, especially for those who work with computers, students, or anyone experiencing eye strain. It can also help alleviate issues such as insomnia, headaches, migraines, and sinusitis.
Precautions:
Avoid this treatment if you have had recent surgery, or if you have a head, neck, or foot injury; a history of thrombosis or embolism; spondylitis or spondylosis.
If you have high or low blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, any heart condition, cancer, or osteoporosis, consult your doctor before scheduling a treatment. Additionally, refrain from consuming alcohol for at least five hours before the treatment.
Devapria began her formal training in bodywork at the age of sixteen. However, she started giving Indian head massages to her family members at a much younger age. This practice has been passed down from mother to daughter for centuries. Since then, she has trained in various modalities, including Craniosacral Balancing, Myofascial Release (also known as Rebalancing), Holistic Massage, Hawaiian Massage, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, Japanese Face Massage, and Joint Release. Her interest and experience in these diverse forms of bodywork are reflected in the unique and comprehensive training sessions she leads, which are rich in both subject material and presence.
